A motorcyclist named Mehedi Hasan Likhan (25) was killed when a lorry ran over him in Basan area of ​​Gazipur metropolis.
The incident took place in front of Basan Union Health and Family Welfare Center in Kodda area under Basan police station of Gazipur around 6 am on Monday (August 19).
The deceased Mehedi Hasan is the son of Abdul Jabbar of Majukhan village under Pubail Thana of Gazipur city. He was in the furniture business.
It is known that around 4 am in the morning, 9 persons left for Mithamin in Kishoreganj district with five motorcycles from Majukhan area under Pubail police station of Gazipur city. There were two people on each motorcycle. However, he was alone on Likhan’s motorcycle. On reaching Mauna Chowrasta area of ​​Gazipur, the traveling companions suddenly noticed that Likhan’s motorcycle was missing. At this time, they tried to communicate but could not communicate in writing. Later, after seeing a post on social media, his traveling companions came to know that Likhon had mistakenly taken another road and died in a road accident
Locals said that the motorcycle fell on the road when a rod carrying truck hit it in front of Basan Union Health and Family Welfare Center at 6 am. Later, the motorcyclist was seriously injured after being hit by the lorry. He was rescued and taken to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
