BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that the Awami League is conspiring in Delhi to falsify the victory won by the students-people. He said, "I am saying this strongly and we want to make it clear that I do not think that India can get much love from the people by sheltering the enemy of the people of Bangladesh, who had to flee from Bangladesh."
Mirza Fakhrul Islam said this at the memorial meeting of late BNP Secretary General Abdus Salam Talukder at National Press Club in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
Mirza Fakhrul said, "One fascism has gone, we cannot import another new fascism." I call it new fascism because that Awami League is conspiring in Delhi today to spoil this victory of Bangladesh.
Referring to the post-coup situation of the students, BNP Secretary General further said, 'We have become independent, but we have not been stable yet. Democracy has not yet been established in that way. Now there is an interim government. This government must stand strong with the support of all of us. Those who are running now do not do politics. They have come for a short time and are trying to pull the destruction that has been done to this state.
Mirza Fakhrul urged not to speak negatively against the interim government and said, "It will not be right to spoil this effort by saying anything negative or doing anything negative at this time." We see, we help, God willing, we will be successful this time as in the past. We will be able to form a representative parliament and government through an impartial election.
BNP Secretary General highlighted the reforms of student movement leaders. He said, "We have talked about many reforms in 31 points. Students, leaders (interim government advisors) are talking about reforms, welcome these reforms. We have also talked about similar reforms in 31 points. With patience today, it will be our responsibility to embrace the new chapter that has begun.'
Mirza Fakhrul commented that those who have been involved in various misdeeds to dim this victory are not patriotic. He said, they are traitors, they have to be stopped, defeated through another struggle.
Abdus Salam Talukdar Memorial Council President Nazrul Islam Khan presided over the memorial meeting by BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Chairperson Advisory Council Members AS Abdul Halim and Abdus Salam, BNP Central Legal Affairs Secretary Kaiser Kamal, former Member of Parliament Afzal H Khan and others.
