The first meeting of the Constitution Reform Commission was held. It has discussed the scope of work and procedure of the commission. A decision will be taken soon to launch an email account and website to communicate with the Commission. In the meeting it was decided that the next meeting of the commission will be held on October 21 at the office of the commission in Dhaka.
The meeting was held virtually on Sunday (October 13) evening under the chairmanship of Commission Chief Professor Ali Riaz.
Other members of the commission who participated in the meeting are - Professor Sumaiya Khair, Barrister Imran Siddique, Professor Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Barrister M Moin Alam Ferozi, Feroze Ahmed, Md. Mustain Billah and Md. Mahfuz Alam. Commission member Dr. Sharif Bhuiya regretted not being able to attend due to travel.
A condolence resolution was accepted at the beginning of the meeting. Later, the Constitution Reform Commission appointed by the interim government remembers with deep respect the martyrs, wounded and oppressed in the Great War of Liberation; Remembering those who gave their lives and were injured in the struggle to establish democracy in the post-independence era.
The office-court is opening today after a long holiday
The Commission is commemorating those killed-injured-victims in the struggle to establish people's rights during the last 15 years under the fascist regime. The commission is deeply saddened by the martyrdom of the anti-discrimination student movement and subsequent student uprisings.
