New prices of diesel and kerosene have come into effect. Diesel and kerosene have reduced by 2 taka 25 paise to 106 taka per liter.

Today, Monday (April 1), various fuel stations in the capital are seen selling diesel and kerosene at these prices.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Yatri Kalyan Samiti has demanded reduction in bus and goods transport fare due to reduction in diesel and kerosene prices. The organization says that fuel oil prices have already been reduced twice. However, no initiative has been taken to reduce bus and cargo fares. Therefore, it is demanded to reduce the fare of bus, launch and goods transportation in accordance with the reduction in the price of fuel immediately.

But the drivers are claiming that they are already charging less fare. So they have to count the loss if the rent is reduced.

A meeting will be held at the headquarters of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) on Monday (April 1) at 12 noon to reschedule the bus fare. It will be presided over by BRTA Chairman Noor Mohammad Majumdar.

Earlier, on Sunday afternoon, the government issued a notification to reduce the price of diesel and kerosene by 2 taka 25 paisa in line with the international market. According to the new prices, diesel and kerosene will be sold at Tk 106 per litre. However, the price of octane and petrol will be sold at the previous price of Tk 126 and Tk 122 respectively.
