After Ruma in Bandarban, after the robbery of Sonali and Krishi Bank in Thanchi, all the banks in six upazilas of Bandarban have been declared closed. Banks will be open only in Sadar Upazila.

Osman Gani, Deputy General Manager of Bandarban Sonali Bank, confirmed this on Wednesday (April 3).

He said that in the case of robberies at Sonali Bank in Ruma on Tuesday and at Sonali and Krishi Banks in Thanchi this afternoon, it has been decided to close all banking activities in Ruma, Thanchi, Rowangchari, Alikadam, Lama and Naikxyongchari upazilas for the sake of security.

Incidentally, Kuki Chin National Front (KNF), a separatist armed organization of Pahar, robbed Sonali Bank in Ruma Upazila of Bandarban at 9:30 pm on Tuesday (April 2). At that time, the members of the armed group kidnapped the bank manager Nezam Uddin along with 14 weapons of the police and Ansar forces, mobile phones, all the money in the bank vault.

On Wednesday (April 3) at around 1 pm, after Ruma, a robbery happened at Sonali and Krishi Bank in Thanchi. At this time, the terrorists surrounded the market and fired several rounds of blank bullets. After that, they stole the mobile phones of several people in the market.
