3 more arrested in connection with fire at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road

Three more people have been arrested in connection with the fire at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road in the capital. Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested them on Tuesday night in raids in Bailey Road and Shantinagar areas of the capital.

 

The arrested are Mohar Ali alias Palash, owner of Jesty Restaurant, Abdullah Al Mateen, owner of Fuco Restaurant and Nazrul Islam Khan, caretaker of the building.

CID Special Superintendent of Police (Dhaka Metro South) confirmed the matter on Wednesday night. Anichur Rahman.

 

He said three more people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the fire incident at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road. After their arrest, they were produced in court on Wednesday. The court granted their two-day remand. They are being interrogated.

 

On the night of February 29, 46 people died in a fire at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road. Among them 18 women and 8 children. The fire started from the food shop on the ground floor of the building.

 

In this incident, the police filed a lawsuit alleging death due to negligence. CID is investigating the case.

 

Earlier, three people were arrested on charges related to the fire incident. They are Anwarul Haque and Shafiqur Rahman, owners of an eatery called ‘Chumuk’ and Zainuddin Jisan, manager of another eatery called Kachchi Bhai.

 

Three more people were arrested on Tuesday, and a total of 6 people were arrested in connection with the fire incident.
