One more person has died among those receiving treatment due to gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur. Two died with this. In this incident, the condition of almost all of the burnt people is serious.
Mansoor Akan (32) died in the ICU of Sheikh Hasina Burn Institute in the capital on Saturday morning, said Assistant Director Dr. Hussain Imam Emu.
Dr. Hossain Imam said that a man named Mansoor died in the ICU on Saturday morning due to the explosion in Gazipur. His body was completely burnt. Two patients have died so far.
One person named Sulaiman Molla (45) died on Friday morning. And one named Azizul was released as healthy. There are still 29 people admitted.
Abu Zafar, elder brother of deceased Mansoor, said that their house is in Saldah Uttarpara village of Shibganj upazila of Bogra district. Mansoor used to work as a mason from a rented house in Kaliakore, Gazipur.
He was returning home after work at the time of the incident. Wife Dina Akter and two daughters live in the village.
It should be noted that last Wednesday, the gas cylinder ran out in the house of Shafiqul Islam in Telirchala area of Kaliakair upazila. He bought a gas cylinder from a nearby shop and tried to connect it to the stove inside the house. At this time the cylinder key broke. The gas started spreading inside the house. Then he threw the cylinder out. Even after discarding, gas continues to escape from the cylinder. At that time, the fire of the wood stove in another room next door came in contact with the gas, and it burst into flames. The fire spread to nearby houses and people outside. 34 people including women, men and children were burnt.
