As the rain has subsided, water has started falling in Sylhet for two days. Apart from this, flood situation is improving in Cherrapunji in India as the amount of rain has decreased.
Meanwhile, at three points of Surma and Kushiara rivers in Sylhet, water is flowing over the boundary, but the water at these points has decreased today compared to yesterday.
Deepak Ranjan Das, executive engineer of Water Development Board (PUBO) Sylhet told the media that the impact of the decrease in rainfall in Sylhet and Cherrapunji in India has affected the rivers of Sylhet. The water level has dropped. If such situation continues, the flood situation will improve rapidly.
Deepak Ranjan Das said that the improvement of the flood situation in Sylhet depends a lot on the rains of Cherrapunji in India. Because, the flood situation worsens in Sylhet due to the hill slopes of India. For this, if the rain in Cherrapunji decreases, the flood situation in Sylhet will improve.
