State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief said that in 20 districts of Cyclone Rimal, there has been damage equal to 6 thousand 880 crores. Mohibbur Rahman.
The state minister said this at the end of the inter-ministerial meeting on the overall issue of Cyclone Rimal at the Secretariat on Sunday (June 2).
He said, we have received the damage estimates of 20 districts through the Directorate of Disaster Management. It is seen that there has been a loss of 6 thousand 880 crore rupees.
The state minister said, 'Cyclone Rimal hit the coastal area of Bangladesh on May 26. Due to the impact of the cyclone, tidal waves are created in several coastal areas. As a result these areas are submerged in water. Also 18 people lost their lives. Several roads, embankments, houses, and social institutions were damaged.
Mohibbur Rahman said that 5 crore 75 lakh cash has been given as relief to the victims in 19 districts so far, "Five thousand 500 tons of rice, 9 thousand packets of dry food, 200 bundles of cotton wool, 2 crore 45 lakh taka for cow food and baby food. Tk 2 crore 45 lakh has been distributed.
Floods occurred in Sylhet, Sunamganj and Dinajpur districts. 2 million cash, 500 tons of rice, 10 million cattle fodder and 10 million child food have been distributed in Sylhet district with the help of flood victims.
On the other hand, Tk 15 lakh cash, Tk 5 lakh cow food and Tk 5 lakh baby food have been distributed in Sunamganj district. In the same way, 15 lakh cash and 3 lakh dry and other food items have been allocated in Dinajpur district, said the state minister for relief.
