Eid-ul-Azha is the second major religious festival of Muslims. There is no lack of people’s interest about when Eid will be. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Meteorology has said that Eid-ul-Azha can be celebrated on June 17 this time.

Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated on the 10th of the month of Zilhaj. National Moon Sighting Committee said this date subject to moon sighting. However, Bangladesh Meteorological Department announced the coordinates of the moon before this.

According to the calculations of the government agency, the moon of the month of Zilhaj is expected to be seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Friday. In that case, Eid-ul-Azha can be celebrated in the country on June 17.

According to the moon coordinates of Zilhaj month signed by meteorologist Naima Baten, next June 6 (Thursday) at 6:38 pm Bangladesh Standard Time, the new moon of Zilhaj month will be born in 1445 Hijri. The Moon will be 0.0042 days old at sunset at 6:44.1 that day and will set 22 minutes before the end of evening twilight.

The moon will be 1.0045 days old at sunset 6:44.5 on Friday (June 7) and set 41.9 minutes after evening twilight. On that day at 4:15.6 in the afternoon Pratipada will end and the second will begin.

The Moon will be 2.0048 days old at sunset at 6:44.8 on Saturday (June 8) and will set one hour and 38.1 minutes after evening twilight, the Meteorological Department also said.

According to the Islamic Foundation, the National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting at Baitul Mukarram Foundation’s meeting room in the capital after Maghrib prayers on Friday to determine the date of Eid-ul-Azha celebration. Minister of Religion Md. Faridul Haque Khan is scheduled to preside over the meeting. A decision will be made after reviewing the moon sighting news there. However, according to Islamic Shari’a, there is a condition for seeing the moon with the naked eye in the case of the beginning of the lunar month.

If the moon is sighted on Friday, the month of Zilhaj will begin on Saturday (June 8). In this case, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 17 (10 Zilkad, Monday). In this case, the month of Zilkad will end on 29 days. If the moon is not sighted on Friday, 30 days of the month of Zilkad will be completed on Saturday. Then the month of Zilhaj will begin on Sunday (June 9). In that case, Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 18 (Tuesday).
