On Monday, March 4, after paying tribute to the martyrs at the National Memorial, Akhtar Hossain, Member Secretary of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), stated that the party would operate as a centrist force rather than aligning with the traditional left-right binary.
He emphasized that the core principles of independence remain unfulfilled and that NCP is committed to realizing them.
Meanwhile, NCP Convenor Nahid Islam mentioned that the party is working on drafting its constitution and will soon move forward by fulfilling the necessary conditions for registration. He further stressed the need for a Constituent Assembly election and a new constitution to build a new republic, ensuring that the aspirations of the Liberation War and all democratic movements are upheld.
Key organizers of the National Citizens' Party, including Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Hannan Masud, were also present at the event.
