On Saturday, March 22, the political party Khelafat Majlish urged the National Consensus Commission not to allow the Awami League to participate in elections before facing trial.
Following a dialogue session at the LD Hall of the National Parliament, Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Dr. Ahmad Abdul Kader informed journalists that the commission agreed on 140 out of 166 spreadsheet questions, disagreed on 10, partially agreed on 15, and required further discussion on one.
He emphasized the need for essential reforms before elections, which he claimed could be completed within ten months.
The National Consensus Commission initiated its core dialogue process on March 20 to build agreement on reform measures. The first discussion was held with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Continuing this initiative, the commission met with Khelafat Majlish on Saturday at 9:30 AM. The dialogue was led by Commission Vice President Ali Riaz and Khelafat Majlish Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Kader.
