Jamaat-e-Islami is scheduled to hold a discussion today with the National Consensus Commission on proposed reforms. The meeting will begin at 10:30 AM at the LD Hall of the National Parliament building.
The party delegation will be led by Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former Member of Parliament, Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher. Following the discussion, the Jamaat representatives are expected to brief the media in a press conference.
Earlier, on March 20, Jamaat-e-Islami submitted a written proposal to the commission, calling for a proportional representation system and a bicameral parliament. The party also shared its views on issues such as constitutional reform, public administration, the judiciary, and the Election Commission. Jamaat leaders noted that they are not focused on a fixed election date but are instead willing to give the government as much time as needed to ensure a truly neutral election.
