Hasnat Abdullah, the chief coordinator of the southern region of the National Citizens' Party (NCP), announced a “March to Jamuna” after failing to receive a concrete roadmap from the advisory council meeting regarding the demand to ban the Awami League. The declaration came around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday during a mass gathering at Shahbagh. Hasnat stated that since the government failed to respond within the previously given timeframe, the protesters would now relocate to the Rajshahi intersection near the Hotel Intercontinental. Following this announcement, the crowd began moving from Shahbagh toward the Intercontinental area, not far from the official residence of the interim government’s chief adviser. Earlier in the evening, around 7:30 p.m., Hasnat had set a one-hour ultimatum, demanding a clear and specific roadmap for the ban, warning that failure to respond would trigger the “March to Jamuna” movement.
