According to the clearance given by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), Mustafizur Rahman can play only 4 more matches in the current season of IPL. After that, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will not get this Tiger pacer in the team for the rest of the matches. Due to which Chennai had to find an alternative cricketer.

Chennai added English pacer Richard Gleeson to the squad for the rest of the matches as a replacement for Mustafiz. This is the first time this right-handed pacer has been called up in the IPL.

However, Gleeson was not directly replaced by Mustafiz. Chennai has immediately added the English pacer to the squad due to the injury of wicketkeeper batsman Devon Conway. Because, due to injury, Conway has been knocked out of the entire IPL.

Gleeson made his England debut at the age of 34 in 2022. He played only 6 international T20 matches for the English. He took 9 wickets. However, this 36-year-old pacer did not get a chance to play ODIs and Tests for England.

Mostafiz is playing great for Chennai this season. He is Chennai’s highest wicket taker so far. 10 wickets for Tiger Pacer in 5 matches.
