2034 Football World Cup will be held in 15 stadiums in Saudi Arabia

After Qatar, Asia is waiting to host another football World Cup. Middle Eastern country Saudi Arabia is going to host the 2034 football world cup. Although not yet officially announced by FIFA, their hosting is almost certain. Now it is known how many venues the World Cup can be held.

According to Saudi Arabia’s state media, the 48-team mega World Cup will be held in 15 stadiums in five cities in Saudi Arabia, including eight in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia announced this information after bidding to host FIFA.

Saudi has taken the responsibility of organizing this FIFA event alone. They have no partner. The Middle East country is hosting according to the FIFA bid document. According to the bid document, Saudi Arabia will need 14 stadiums with a capacity of at least 40,000 spectators to host the 48-team World Cup.

Currently, there are two stadiums in Saudi Arabia with a capacity of 40,000 spectators. The first is King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah and the second is King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh. Meanwhile, Fahad Stadium is still under construction. The remaining 13 stadiums are awaiting construction as per FIFA’s requirements.

King Salman Stadium will be ready for the opening and final matches of the World Cup. However, its construction work has not yet started. The spectator capacity of this stadium will be more than twice the FIFA requirement i.e. 92 thousand. The oil-rich country is organizing the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ with a big plan.
