According to a source of BCB, the number of active directors of the board, 7-8 of them yesterday sat in discussion to decide what to do in the current situation. There, a director told everyone in the meeting about this desire of Nazmul Hasan.

A director of BCB, who did not wish to be named, told this reporter today that Nazmul is willing to resign from the post of president to allow reforms in BCB. However, according to the constitution, he has to inform the board in writing of his decision to resign, which must then be approved by the board of directors.

But the board meeting has to be called by the current president Nazmul Hasan, which he can sit abroad and has assured in this regard. The President may delegate the responsibility of presiding over the meeting through the Chief Executive Officer to any other director in his absence. Or in the absence of the Chairman any director may preside at the meeting on the proposal of any of those present. The meeting will be called once the BCB president formally tenders his resignation, sources said.
