Argentina’s World Cup-winning star Angel Di Maria and his family have been arrested by the country’s Federal Police and the PDI, a special unit of the police dedicated to the investigation and collection of information related to crimes. This information is known in the news of TYC Sports, a popular portal about sports in Argentina.

The arrested threat is Pablo Acota. The police have found involvement with drug smuggling against him. The miscreant admitted the matter during the initial interrogation. Two other people assisted him in making threats. Two accomplices, Sara Belen Gutierrez and Gabriel Ismael Pastor, were also arrested.

Police arrested three criminals from their house. They were trying to escape before being arrested.

Earlier on March 25, Di Maria and his family received death threats in his hometown of Rosario in Argentina.

A bundle containing death threats wrapped in black nylon was thrown from a moving vehicle by an unknown assailant at the Funes Hills Miraflores condominium, where Rosario Gale de Maria lives, at around 2:30 a.m. last Monday. Where it is said, if De Maria returns to Rosario, someone in his family will be killed.

Di Maria is currently on a tour of the United States with the Argentina national team. He led the team in a friendly match against Costa Rica on Wednesday and won 3-1.

Di Maria’s current club is Benfica. His contract with this Portuguese club will expire on June 30 of this year. He has already announced that he will play for his childhood club Rosario Central in the last days of his career. He was expected to return to Rosario after June.

But what the perpetrators said in the death threat was that Di Maria or one of his ribbers would actually be killed for playing for Rosario Central.

Rosario police said four gunshots were heard when the object wrapped in black nylon was thrown from the car outside Funes Hills Miraflores, TYC Sports reported. But as the car was speeding, the shots were random and did not cause any damage.

A Santa Fe state judge and police have launched a massive investigation into the death threats thrown at De Maria. The message sent, addressed to Di María’s father, reads, ‘Tell your son not to return to Rosario. Then we will kill any member of your family. Even Pullaro (Maximiliano, who is the governor of Santa Fe) cannot save you. We didn’t just throw a piece of paper, we threw leads (in boxing parlance) and dead people.’
