Global warming is increasing. As a result, the use of AC is also increasing. Various types of accidents are increasing due to the increase in the use of AC. The main cause of AC accidents in our country is neglect of maintenance of this machine. Many people do not understand that AC needs special care like any other electrical appliance. So it is often heard that various accidents are happening in homes or offices.

There is no substitute for awareness to prevent AC accidents. Ruhul K Sagar, Assistant General Manager (Brand Development) of Yamuna Electronics said what steps can be taken to prevent AC accidents to a large extent. He said, ‘It is important to clean the filter, coil and connection line regularly to keep the AC in good condition. Along with that, the performance of the compressor and the electricity connection should be checked. Then on the one hand, as the machine will be good, it will be possible to avoid accidents. If used properly, AC will no longer seem dangerous.

Ruhul K Sagar has given several suggestions on what to do to prevent various accidents of the daily life accessory.

AC should be bought from a reliable company. Many times old or inferior ACs are sold under different brand names. Without a good brand of AC, compressors and other appliances do not work properly. Use of this type of AC can cause accidents. So avoid buying low quality or fake brand AC and compressor.

Before buying an AC, you need to determine the right AC capacity according to the size of the room. Many times we don’t buy AC according to the shape of the room. As a result, the AC in use gets stressed, which causes accidents.

There are many types of mistakes that are made while installing and connecting the AC. Apart from this, AC accidents occur due to excess heat, dirt and pollution, negligence in cleaning and maintenance, electrical short circuit and presence of flammable materials around.

During the installation of AC, if the connection is not made properly or if there is a hole in the pipe, it increases the pressure on the compressor. As it does not cool the house as required, there is also a risk of accidents.

AC accidents also occur due to short circuits in electrical cables. If the electrical wiring is not properly connected, the AC may overheat and catch fire. So before installation check whether the electrical connection is suitable for AC or not.

Outdoor AC units are often installed in closed spaces, where air cannot circulate properly. So the outdoor AC should be placed in such a place that enough air can circulate.

The seal between the AC and the window frame should be taken care of so that it is connected to the unit’s metal case at the start of each cooling session. It is better to have these works done by a skilled technician.

AC evaporator and condenser coil should be checked every year. It also needs to be cleaned. If the condenser of the AC is dirty, high temperature and high pressure are created in the compressor. Apart from this, if the refrigerant is charged more than the specified level in the compressor, the high pressure may cause an accident.

Sometimes the drain channel of the AC should be cleaned with a strong wire. If there is a blockage somewhere in the pipe inside the AC, the high pressure inside the AC can cause the compressor to burst.

Many people forget to turn off the AC in extreme heat. It is not right to use AC for a long time without understanding the performance of AC in high temperature. Do not run the AC for more than eight hours at a time and take occasional breaks. Then accidents can be prevented.
