Major Hafiz Confirms BNP’s Cooperation with Interim Government

BNP Standing Committee Member Major (retd) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad said that Sheikh Hasina fled the country as a result of the sacrifice and struggle of students, BNP and other opposition parties through an exceptional change in Bangladesh. Currently, An interim government has been established under the leadership of Professor Dr. Yunus, which they will fully cooperate with.

Major Hafiz made this comment after paying homage at the shrine of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at Zia Udyan in the capital on Saturday. He paid tribute to Ziaur Rahman’s shrine along with newly nominated Nurul Islam Moni as the vice chairman of BNP.

Major Hafeez also said that the interim government should take quick steps to correct the damage caused to the society and economy of the country during the long term rule of Awami League, violations of human rights and crimes like disappearances and murders. He hoped that the interim government would hand over responsibility to the people’s representatives within a reasonable period of time with a view to holding fair elections. Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP member secretary Aminul Haque and other party leaders were also present in the event.
