Netanyahu said in a post on social media that the provocative channel Al-Jazeera will be closed in Israel after the Israeli cabinet passed a resolution to shut down Al-Jazeera by consensus.

Meanwhile, video footage of the search at Al-Jazeera's office has spread online. In the video, plainclothes Israeli officers dismantle and confiscate cameras and other equipment in a room.

Al-Jazeera reported that the search took place at their office in East Jerusalem.

Al-Jazeera referred to this activity of Israel as a "criminal step". Allegations that the television channel is a threat to Israel's national security have been called "dangerous" and "ridiculous lies".
