Bangladesh has already played two matches in the Zimbabwe series. Nazmul Hossain Shanta’s team has won in both. Although the team won, captain Shanto could not make a big contribution in any of the two matches. He got out for 21 runs (24 balls) in the first T20. And in the second match he managed to score 16 runs (15 balls).

Shanta gave a hint as to why he is not doing well with the bat. In his speech at the end of the match yesterday, the Bangladesh captain said that it was difficult for them to bat due to repeated rains.

“First of all, all the bowlers have done very well,” said Shanto. But as I said, we cannot control the rain. It is not easy for a batsman. We have to adapt to everything. There are many areas where we can improve.

Shanto also said, ‘Zimbabwe can play good cricket here too. I think they batted very well in the middle of the innings. The bowlers could do little. But still I am not worried about bowling today (yesterday).’

Talking about Bangladesh’s batting, Shanto said, ‘The way Tamim (Tanjid Tamim) and Liton (Liton Das) started the innings with a pair of 40+ runs, it helped our team. Later Hriday (Tawhid Hriday) and Riyad (Mahmudullah Riyad) brothers came to finish the match. The next matches will be during the day. So we have to plan.

Yesterday, Bangladesh sent Zimbabwe to bat after winning the toss at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Zimbabwe scored 138 runs for 7 wickets. Jonathan Campbell scored the maximum 45 runs (24 balls). Besides, Brian Bennett played an unbeaten innings of 44 runs off 29 balls.

In response, Bangladesh scored 41 runs from 35 balls in the opening pair. And in the end, Hriday and Mahmudullah’s unbeaten pair of 49 runs won Bangladesh by 6 wickets.
