Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 12 runs in the first match of the current IPL. Delhi avenged that loss in the second appearance. The capital franchise won by 20 runs after failing Sanju Samson’s 86-run innings showing a one-man army show.

Rajasthan’s target for victory was 222 runs. But despite fighting hard, Rajasthan could not touch that target. They managed to score 201 runs for 8 wickets. As a result, Delhi won by 20 runs.

Delhi scored 221 runs in both fifties after losing the toss and batting at the Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday. Two openers Jack Fraser Magarque and Abhishek Porel scored fifty.

Australian young cricketer Magark created a storm when he came down to bat. He scored a fifty off just 20 balls. After reaching the milestone of fifty with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes, Ravichandran Ashwin did not let him stay on the pitch. Donavon Pereira takes a hand catch to Magarque.

After breaking the opening pair of 60 runs from 26 balls, Abhishek Porel started to run rampant again. He played an innings of 65 runs off 36 balls (7 boundaries and 3 sixes). In the end, Tristan Stubbs played an innings of 41 runs off 20 balls.

In response, captain Sanju Samson fought alone for Rajasthan. Two openers in great form, Yasswi Jaiswal (2 balls 4) and Jos Buttler (17 balls 19) were completely unsuccessful that day.

After that, Samson played an innings of 86 runs with 46 balls. Rajasthan’s brilliant innings of 8 boundaries and 6 sixes was of no use. Rear Parag scored 27 off 22 balls and Shivam Dube scored 25 off 12 balls. In this, Rajasthan had to stop at 201 runs for 8 wickets.

Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets for 24 runs for Rajasthan. And Khaled Ahmed and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each for Delhi.
