The passports of two Indian nationals have been withheld on allegations of fixing in the Legends Cricket League. They are Yoni Patel and P Akash. Their passports have been confiscated by the Sri Lankan government. The country has taken this tough step so that these two Indians cannot leave the country.

However, they are currently free on bail. The Lankan government has said that the passports have been confiscated to verify the allegations against Patel and Akash.

Former Sri Lanka ODI captain Upul Tharanga and former New Zealand cricketer Neil Broom have complained against these two Indian citizens. They suspect that Patel and Akash tried to fix the match.

Allegedly, these two tried to influence the match cricketers to perform badly on purpose.

As a result, the passports of Patel and Akash were withheld. It is said that they cannot leave the country for the sake of investigation. And if the charges are proved, they will be re-arrested and face appropriate punishment

It should be noted that the Legends Cricket League was held in Kandy, Sri Lanka from March 8 to May 19. Patel is the owner of Candy Swasp Army Team, one of the teams in that league. And Akash tried match fixing in this event.
