A helicopter carrying President Ibrahim Raisi has crashed in Iran’s East Azarbaijan province. Some media in the country are saying that the helicopter has crashed.

Soon after this Sunday’s accident, some rumors spread on social media.

Some say Raisi was not in the helicopter that crashed. Many others claim that the president’s helicopter has contacted the headquarters.
However, Qatar-based media Al Jazeera reported that the information spread about the Iranian president not being in the helicopter and communicating from the helicopter is not true.

But the truth is that Raisi is still missing and an operation is being prepared to find him.

The helicopter is believed to have crashed in a densely forested and mountainous area of East Azerbaijan province. As the place is a remote area, it may take several hours for rescuers to reach there.

Al Jazeera also reported that there is confusion in Iran about the helicopter crash. No one is clearly stating any information.

President Raisi visited Azerbaijan last Saturday. He inaugurated a dam there with Azari President.

The country’s state media also reported that there were three helicopters in this fleet. Two of which returned safely.

Apart from President Ibrahim Raisi, the helicopter that crashed was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdullahian and Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Ali-Hasem. He was the representative of Iran’s highest religious leader in the region.
