Saudi hits alert for Hajj pilgrims

The holy Hajj is going to start in just two days. Like last time, the pilgrims are suffering from extreme heat. Saudi Arabian authorities have warned the pilgrims that the ongoing temperature during the Hajj may reach 48 degrees Celsius. Therefore, the pilgrims have been urged to follow the health rules prescribed by the ministry.

According to a report by the Saudi media Arab News, the spokesman of the Ministry of Health of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad Al-Abdul Ali, said that the altitude will create a big challenge during this year’s Hajj season. He called upon the pilgrims to follow the hygiene rules prescribed by the ministry to protect themselves from extreme heat.

He advised to drink more water besides using umbrella to avoid heat during Hajj. Besides, Hajids have been warned not to go out unless necessary.

Earlier, the Meteorological Office of Saudi Arabia said that the temperature in Mecca will be between 45 and 48 degrees Celsius during Hajj.

Last time also during Hajj it was very hot. On the 9th of Zilhaj, many people suffered from heat stroke while staying at Arafat Maidan. The Saudi authorities have already warned that there may be similar heat this year.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has completed all preparations for this year’s Hajj. As part of this, the annual parade of the Hajj security forces was held in Makkah last Monday (June 10). The country’s Interior Minister, Supreme Hajj Committee Chairman Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef participated in it.

Various security preparations taken for this year’s Hajj were highlighted in this event. Director of Public Security Department and Chairman of Hajj Security Committee Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Basami spoke there. He said that all necessary measures have been taken for the safety and security of Hajj pilgrims.

The Saudi authorities have imposed strict measures against foreign nationals living illegally to prevent the Hajj. Some people from Pakistan and Myanmar have already been arrested for coming to Hajj with fake permits. Hundreds of thousands of people who entered Mecca illegally have been sent back by local police.

Next Friday (June 14) the Hajj ceremony will begin. The next day is the main part of Hajj at Arafat Maidan.

This time around 2 million Muslims will perform the holy Hajj. So far 82 thousand 772 people have left Bangladesh. The Hajj flight ends on Wednesday (June 12).
