North Korea claims to have successfully tested a new strategic ballistic missile. The missile was fired with the warhead on Monday to test its flight stability and accuracy. The warhead of this missile is capable of carrying 4.5 tons of explosives.

British news agency Reuters reported this news on Tuesday, citing state news agency KCNA.

The new strategic ballistic missile test has been named Hwasongfo-11 Da-4.5, the news agency said. However, the report did not provide any details about the nature of the warhead.

According to KCNA, North Korea will conduct another test of a similar missile in July.

A day ago, South Korea reported the launch of two ballistic missiles by North Korea. The country said at the time that the second missile during the test probably failed shortly after launch and exploded before landing on the ground.

However, KCNA did not mention any information about the second missile.
