Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi has been granted interim bail in a corruption case. A special court in Rawalpindi granted him bail on Tuesday (July 2). This information is known in a report of Pakistani media Geo News.

In December last year, Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a corruption case against Imran Khan, his wife and seven others for allegedly taking money from the land acquirer to set up the Al-Qadir University Project Trust.

However, both Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have claimed that the case filed against them is false.

Bushra Bibi is unlikely to be released now even if she gets bail. Because she is serving time in prison after being found guilty in the iddat case filed claiming her marriage with Imran Khan as illegal.

In the past few months, Pakistani courts have suspended the imprisonment of Imran Khan in two cases filed on charges of leaking state secrets and embezzling and selling state gifts from the treasury.

However, Imran Khan and Bushra BBK still have to fight in court in several cases.
