Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has urged the public to ignore the spread of misinformation ahead of the upcoming election and to exercise their right to vote without fear.
He made this call in a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday (February 11) afternoon.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman emphasized that when the nation is ready for a fair, impartial, and acceptable election, a specific group is trying to disrupt the process by spreading false information, fearing the growing popularity and support for Jamaat-e-Islami. He accused these groups of attempting to confuse voters with such baseless propaganda and kindly requested everyone to disregard these false narratives.
In his message to the citizens, Jamaat’s Amir said, “Voting is your right and sacred duty. Vote for your preferred candidate and symbol. The entire nation expects the same from you.” He stressed the importance of active voter participation in maintaining a fair election environment and ensuring the success of the democratic process.
He ended the post by seeking the help of Almighty Allah for the country and its people.
