Fifty Bangladeshi judges are set to participate in a training program at the National Judicial Academy in Bhopal and a State Judicial Academy in India. The training, scheduled from February 10 to 20, will include participants such as Assistant Judges, Senior Assistant Judges, Joint District Judges, Additional District Judges, District Judges, and officials of similar rank. The Ministry of Law and Justice announced this through a recent notice, confirming that the training expenses will be covered by the Indian government, with no financial involvement from the Bangladeshi government. This initiative stems from a memorandum of understanding signed during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India in April 2017, aiming to enhance the capacity and training of Bangladesh’s judiciary. Following this agreement, a few judicial officers from Bangladesh attended training in India in October 2017.
