On the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the Great Proclaimer of Independence, the introducer of multi-party democracy, the founding Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and former President Ziaur Rahman, the Bangladesh Nationalist Social Cultural Organization (JASAS) paid deep tribute by placing floral wreaths at his mausoleum.
On Friday, at the mausoleum of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, floral wreaths were laid on behalf of JASAS by Zakir Hossain Rokon, Member Secretary of the Central Executive Committee, and Anisul Islam Sani, Joint Convener of the Central Executive Committee. Leaders and activists from the central committee and various levels of the organization were also present on the occasion.
After paying tribute, the leaders participated in a special prayer seeking the forgiveness and eternal peace of the soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. They stated that Ziaur Rahman played an important role in the independence of Bangladesh, the protection of its sovereignty, and the establishment of democratic institutions. His ideals and patriotism will continue to inspire future generations.
It is worth mentioning that President Ziaur Rahman was martyred on May 30, 1981, during a failed military coup in Chattogram. On the occasion of his martyrdom anniversary, BNP and its affiliated and associate organizations, as in previous years, are observing various programs to pay tribute to his memory.
JASAS leaders said that the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, his nationalist spirit, and his struggle for the establishment of democracy will remain eternally remembered in the political history of the country.
