A four-story building collapsed in the Mustafabad area of Delhi, India, leaving at least four people dead and 14 others rescued alive. Fears remain that several individuals are still trapped beneath the rubble. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday (April 18) at around 3:00 AM local time, according to a report by NDTV.

Senior police officer Sandeep Lamba told ANI that rescue operations began promptly after the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and police arrived at the scene. He confirmed the recovery of four bodies and the rescue of 14 people, while estimating that 8 to 10 individuals may still be trapped.

The injured have been taken to the local GTB Hospital for treatment. When asked about the cause of the collapse, Lamba said an investigation is underway to determine the details.

Rajendra Atwal, a divisional fire officer, stated that the fire department received a call around 2:50 AM regarding the incident. Upon arrival, they discovered the building had completely collapsed and people were trapped underneath. The NDRF and Delhi Fire Service teams are continuing rescue efforts.

The collapse occurred amid heavy rainfall, strong winds, and lightning in some parts of Delhi. Last week, during a severe dust storm, a wall of an under-construction building in Madhu Vihar collapsed, killing one and injuring two others.
