Devastating Fire at Textile Mill in Rupganj

A devastating fire broke out at the DAK Textile Mill, a cotton and yarn factory in Rupganj, Narayanganj, on Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 7:00 AM in the Bhayela area of Bhulta Union. The fire engulfed cotton, fabric, bailing materials, chalk, yarn bundles, and machinery inside the factory, reducing them to ashes.

 

According to workers and eyewitnesses, the fire began suddenly while they were working, originating from a liling machine. The flames rapidly spread throughout the factory.

 

Kanchan Fire Service Warehouse Inspector Mahfuzur Rahman reported receiving information about the fire at 7:30 AM. Two fire service units arrived at the scene and began firefighting efforts by 8:00 AM. After an hour of efforts, the fire was brought under control. Additionally, two units from the Kanchpur Fire Service also joined the operation.

 

The fire service continues to ensure complete safety at the site. No casualties have been reported, and investigations are underway to determine the extent of damages and the cause of the fire.
