New Law Against Enforced Disappearances Coming Soon: Asif Nazrul

Dr. Asif Nazrul, the Legal Affairs Adviser, has announced that within the next month, a new law addressing enforced disappearances will be introduced. Under this law, a permanent commission will be established to deal with disappearance-related issues. He also mentioned that the government is considering whether it would be possible to include a provision in the law to issue “missing certificates” for those who have previously been victims of enforced disappearance. Dr. Nazrul shared these updates while speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Monday (June 16). Further details are expected soon.
