Despotism Must Be Crushed at First Sight: Chief Advisor

At the inauguration ceremony of the “July Calendar” held Tuesday (July 1) at the Karobi Hall of the Chief Advisor’s Office, Dr. Muhammad Yunus stated that it was the students’ movement that gave the nation a taste of true freedom. Highlighting the historic unity among all classes of people during July, he called for that spirit to remain unbroken.
Dr. Yunus, the Chief Advisor, emphasized the need for a renewed pledge to fulfill the goals of July—ensuring that authoritarianism never rises again. He described July as a powerful call for democratic transformation, aimed at dismantling fascism and returning power to the people. Stressing that such movements should not take another sixteen years to emerge, he urged that any early sign of dictatorship must be swiftly confronted. Despite the challenges ahead, Yunus affirmed that the path forward is full of potential. With that conviction, he called for July to be transformed into a month of national awakening.
