25 New Additional Judges Join the High Court, Among Them Sarjis’ Father-in-law

5 New Additional Judges Appointed to High Court Division
The government has appointed 25 individuals as additional judges to the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, according to a notification issued late Monday by the Ministry of Law’s Law and Justice Division.
Of the newly appointed judges, nine come from the judicial service, nine are practicing lawyers, and seven are law officers.
The appointments were made under Articles 95(1) and 98 of the Constitution, following consultation with the Chief Justice. Each appointee will serve as an additional judge for a term of up to two years, starting from the day they take their oath.
The list of appointees includes:

Judicial officers such as District and Sessions Judges Md Nurul Islam (Chattogram), Jesmin Ara Begum (Habiganj), and Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain.

Law officers including Deputy Attorneys General Dihidar Masum Kabir, Md Monjur Alam, Md Lutfur Rahman, Rezaul Karim, Mahmud Hasan, AFM Saiful Karim, and SM Ifthekhar Uddin Mahmud.

Lawyers from the Supreme Court such as Md Anwarul Islam (Shahin), Rajiuddin Ahmed, Faisal Hasan Arif, Md Asif Hasan, Md Ziaul Haque, Fatema Anwar, Abdur Rahman, Syed Hasan Jubair, and Urmi Rahman.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Law and the judiciary, including Additional Secretary Md Saiful Islam, Secretary Sheikh Abu Taher, Joint Secretary SM Saiful Islam, Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Solicitor Md Rafizul Islam, and Judicial Service Commission Secretary Murad-e-Maula Sohel.
One of the appointees, Deputy Attorney General Md Lutfur Rahman, is notably the father-in-law of Sarjis Alam, a key coordinator of the National Citizen Party in the northern region. He was appointed Deputy Attorney General in the aftermath of the mass uprising.
