Electricity supply will remain suspended for six hours in Kurigram and Lalmonirhat on Saturday, August 30. The notice was confirmed in an official circular signed by Shahjahan Ali, Executive Engineer of the Grid Maintenance Division (GMD), Rangpur, under Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB).

According to Atifur Rahman, Executive Engineer of the Northern Electricity Supply Company (NESCO), Kurigram office, the shutdown will take place from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. During this time, GMD will replace faulty conductors of the Rangpur–Kurigram and Rangpur–Lalmonirhat 132 KV transmission lines, as well as repair damaged conductors of the Lalmonirhat 132 KV line.

As a result, around 120 MW of load shedding will occur in Kurigram and Lalmonirhat districts under their respective grid substations. Simultaneously, parts of Rangpur city under the 33 KV Lalbagh feeder will face about 20 MW of load shedding.

Officials stated that the maintenance work is essential to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and overall system safety.

They further informed that due to the shutdown, electricity supply will remain off for six hours (7:00 am to 1:00 pm) in seven upazilas of Kurigram (excluding Roumari and Rajibpur under Jamalpur). Authorities apologized for the temporary inconvenience to customers.
