RAB strengthens surveillance and patrols nationwide ahead of Durga Puja

To ensure security during Durga Puja celebrations, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has stepped up intelligence monitoring and patrol operations across the country. In Dhaka alone, 94 patrol teams have been deployed, while a total of 281 teams are operating nationwide.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the enhanced security measures will continue from Thursday until October 3. Each battalion has been instructed to maintain vigilance in its designated areas.

RAB stated that there are more than 31,500 Puja mandaps across the country this year. The force is coordinating security efforts through its control rooms in partnership with local Puja committees, public representatives, and other law enforcement agencies.

The battalion has also urged citizens to immediately report any attempts of sabotage or disorder related to the festival. In addition, people have been advised to contact RAB’s control rooms or the officers assigned to their districts for any law and order–related assistance during the celebrations.
