The BNP’s three affiliated organizations—Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal—have announced a “Long March” program from Dhaka to Agartala, set for Wednesday, December 11. This decision follows the submission of a memorandum to the Indian High Commission in Dhaka.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan on Monday morning, where Jubo Dal President M. Monayem Munna outlined the plan. According to Munna, the march aims to protest against “Indian aggression” and the dissemination of “false information terrorism” targeting Bangladesh.
The peaceful march will commence at 8 AM from Naya Paltan, proceeding toward the Akhaura border en route to Agartala. Munna called on leaders and activists from all levels of Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal to actively participate in the program.
Munna expressed gratitude to the media for their support in covering previous programs and sought their cooperation for the upcoming march. On Sunday, the three organizations attempted a protest march toward the Indian High Commission in Baridhara but were halted by police near the Rampura Bridge. Despite this, their leaders, led by Munna, reached the High Commission and submitted a memorandum.
The memorandum demanded India refrain from alleged interference in Bangladesh’s internal matters, stop attacks on the Bangladeshi High Commission in India, respect the national flag, and halt misinformation campaigns against Bangladesh in Indian media.
The press conference was also addressed by Swechchhasebak Dal President S.M. Zilani, General Secretary Rajib Ahsan, Jubo Dal General Secretary Nurul Islam Noyon, and Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib, among others.
