Turnover Up, But Most Stock Prices Fall

On Thursday, the last working day of the week, trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended with a rise in key indices, despite the majority of listed companies witnessing a decline in share prices. The day also saw an increase in total turnover.
According to data from the DSE, shares and units worth BDT 5.40 billion were traded on Thursday, marking an increase of BDT 129.7 million from the previous day’s turnover of BDT 5.27 billion.
The DSEX, the benchmark index, rose by 9 points to settle at 5,205. Among other indices, the DS30 gained 5 points to reach 1,927, while the Shariah-compliant DSES index advanced by 3 points.
Out of the 395 issues traded, 149 saw price increases, 168 declined, and 78 remained unchanged.
