Storm Warning Issued for Dhaka and Several Districts

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning that thunderstorms accompanied by rain and gusty winds, reaching speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, may affect Dhaka and 15 other districts on Tuesday, April 29. According to a special notice valid until 1 PM, areas including Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Jashore, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar may experience temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the west or northwest, along with rain or thunderstorms. As a result, inland river ports in these regions have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1. A separate weather bulletin also forecasts intermittent thunder, lightning, gusty winds, and scattered rainfall across parts of the country over the next few days.
