The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced restrictions on rallies, processions, and public gatherings in areas surrounding major judicial institutions and residences, effective from Friday and to remain in force until further notice.

According to a public notice issued today, demonstrations of any kind — including meetings, human chains, and sit-ins — will not be permitted in front of the Chief Justice’s official residence, Justice Bhaban, Judges Complex, the Supreme Court’s main gate, Mazar Gate, Jame Masjid Gate, the entrances to International Crimes Tribunal 1 and 2, or the Judicial Administration Training Institute.

The order was signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76), citing the importance of maintaining public safety and order.

The DMP also urged citizens and demonstrators to refrain from blocking roads or disrupting traffic under the banner of movements or demands, calling for cooperation to ensure peace and stability in the capital.
