Member of Parliament Abdullah Al Amin, representing the Narayanganj-4 (Fatullah–Siddhirganj) constituency, raised separate questions in Parliament regarding the modernization of the Dhaka–Narayanganj Old Road, the proposed interchange and overpass at Chashara, and the development of regional highway infrastructure. The questions were answered by Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Robiul Alam.

Responding to a query about widening the roadway in the Chanmari and Rifle Club areas and constructing an interchange and overpass at Chashara, the minister stated that the Narayanganj Link Road (R-111) expansion project, covering the Signboard–Chashara section, was completed in June 2025 and upgraded to six lanes.

However, a 450-meter stretch between Chanmari and Chashara could not be widened to the planned standard because the Roads and Highways Department does not own the required land. The land in question is currently under the control of the Bangladesh Army.

According to the minister, a land exchange proposal with the Bangladesh Army is currently going through the approval process. Once the transfer is finalized, authorities intend to move forward with road widening works in the Chanmari, Rifle Club, and Chashara areas, along with plans for a grade-level interchange and an overpass.

Addressing another question on upgrading the Chashara–Panchabati–Postogola regional highway, the minister said the government is considering a project to expand the route into a four-lane corridor with service lanes as part of the Inner Circular Road network.
