Titas Gas has issued a safety advisory for general customers to help prevent gas-related accidents. The notice, released on Saturday (June 14), urges users to follow specific safety guidelines before cooking. Customers are advised to ensure proper ventilation by keeping kitchen doors and windows open for at least 20 minutes prior to using gas stoves. It is also essential to carefully inspect stove knobs, buttons, hosepipes, and brass keys for any potential gas leaks before igniting the stove.
In case of any suspected gas leak, users should immediately shut off the gas supply by turning off the riser valve. Titas further recommends that any necessary repairs be carried out promptly by certified and authorized technicians.
The gas authority has provided emergency contact numbers for reporting gas leaks or gas odors: 01955-500497-500 and call center number 16496.
The announcement, signed by Md. Al Amin, Manager of Titas Gas’s Media and Public Relations Department, emphasizes the importance of caution when using gas to remain safe from accidents.
Experts have also pointed out that gas accumulation, particularly during summer, can often lead to fires, underscoring the critical importance of following these safety guidelines issued by Titas Gas.
