Final Candidate List Declared for DUCSU and Hall Union Polls

The Election Commission has officially released the final list of candidates contesting in the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections. A total of 471 candidates will compete for 28 positions. The announcement was made on Tuesday (26 August) at 4 PM.
During the scrutiny process, 28 candidates withdrew their nominations, while another 10 were disqualified for failing to appeal against initial rejection.

Science & Technology Secretary: 12
Research & Publication Secretary: 9
Sports Secretary: 13
Transport Secretary: 12
Social Service Secretary: 17
Health & Environment Secretary: 15
Human Rights & Legal Affairs Secretary: 11
Career Development Secretary: 15

The election campaign is now underway across the university campus, ahead of the polls scheduled for 9 September. With 38 candidates out of the race, the contest will feature 471 final contenders.
Meanwhile, allegations against the commission continue to surface from several candidates. The Election Commission has announced that the army will be deployed as a striking force on election day to maintain order.
