Despite a renewed request from the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has not changed its position on refusing to travel to India for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Citing security concerns, the board has once again formally informed the ICC that it will not send the team to India and has asked for Bangladesh’s matches to be held in a different country instead.

These developments were confirmed in an official press release issued after a video conference between the BCB and the ICC earlier today.

The meeting was attended on behalf of the BCB by president Aminul Islam, vice-presidents Md. Shakhawat Hossain and Faruk Ahmed, Cricket Operations Committee chairman Nazmul Abedin, and Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

According to the BCB statement, the board remains firm on its earlier decision after assessing the current security situation in India. During the meeting, the ICC urged the BCB to reconsider, noting that the World Cup schedule has already been announced. However, the Bangladesh board did not alter its stance.

BCB has again proposed that Bangladesh’s matches be relocated to a neutral venue outside India. The board emphasized that the safety and security of players, coaching staff, and officials are its highest priority.

Both the ICC and the BCB have agreed to continue discussions in an effort to resolve the issue, with further talks planned in the coming days.
