The National Citizen Party (NCP) has teamed up with the Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) and the Bangladesh Rastro Sangskar Andolan to create a new political coalition ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election scheduled for February 2026.
At a press conference held at 5:00pm at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), NCP Convener and alliance spokesperson Nahid Islam announced that the coalition will operate under the name “Gonotantrik Songskar Jote.”
He said the bloc currently includes three parties and is intended as a political alliance. According to him, groups involved in the July uprising plan to participate in the upcoming election under a unified electoral symbol.
Nahid Islam added that any organisation that supports the ideals of the July movement or shares an interest in state reform is welcome to join the coalition.
He also noted that earlier attempts to collaborate with long-established political parties on reform initiatives had been a “misstep.”
AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju stated that the new alliance aspires to function as a coordinated platform dedicated to advancing political reforms.
