Rafiqul Alam Majnu, convener of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP, stated that their struggle has always been to build a democratic society where the sovereign power of the country lies with the people, who can elect their government through voting. “Today, that opportunity has come,” he said. Majnu further expressed concern over the roles of some deceptive political leaders, claiming their actions stand against the dreams of the martyrs. He warned that if reckless behavior and negative politics nullify the sacrifices of the martyrs, Bangladesh will never forgive them. He reaffirmed that the dreams for which young men sacrificed their lives would be realized through the implementation of the 31-point reform plan.

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, Majnu made these remarks at a workshop titled “State Structure Reform, 31-Point Plan Presented by Tarique Rahman, and Public Engagement,” organized by Sutrapur Thana BNP under Dhaka Metropolitan South at Dholaikhal in Old Dhaka. The workshop was conducted by city member secretary Tanvir Ahmed Robin. BNP’s International Affairs Committee member Engineer Ishraq Hossain presented and analyzed the 31-point reform agenda. The discussion was joined by former general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Kazi Abul Bashar, executive committee member Hamidur Rahman Hamid, city joint conveners Harunur Rashid Harun, Abdus Sattar, Saidur Rahman Mintu, Mokbul Islam Khan Tipu, Farhad Hossain, South Volunteer Wing President Zahiduddin Tuhin, South Labor Wing Convener Suman Bhuiyan, South Farmers Wing President Haji Kamal Hossain, and South Women’s Wing President Ruma Akhter, along with leaders of the city BNP and its affiliated organizations.

Engineer Ishraq Hossain criticized the “unelected fascist Hasina government” for destroying Bangladesh over the past 15 years. He explained that BNP’s acting chairman, after discussions with over 60 political parties, had presented a 31-point proposal for reforms across state institutions, as well as social, political, and economic sectors. He emphasized that, if given the people’s mandate, BNP would implement these 31 points with collective participation.

City member secretary Tanvir Ahmed Robin emphasized that only strong unity could permanently rid politics of the collaborators of Awami fascism. He further stated that anyone providing shelter or support to these collaborators would also face resistance.
