Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay has arrived in Dhaka for an official visit

Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay arrived in Dhaka on Saturday for a two-day state visit and was warmly received by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
The head of the interim government welcomed Prime Minister Tobgay at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), according to Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser.
Tobgay, along with his delegation, arrived on a Drukair flight at approximately 8:15 a.m. Upon arrival, the two leaders held a brief meeting at the airport’s VVIP lounge, during which the Bhutanese Prime Minister expressed his condolences to the families affected by Friday’s earthquake and inquired about the extent of the damage.
Following the meeting, Tobgay was escorted to a ceremonial dais, where he received a 19-gun salute and a guard of honour.
After the airport ceremony, the Prime Minister visited the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to pay tribute to the heroes of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. He laid wreaths at the memorial’s altar, signed the visitors’ book, and planted a Bakul sapling on the premises.
Later in the day, Bangladesh’s Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin are scheduled to meet the Bhutanese leader. Prime Minister Tobgay will also hold a one-on-one meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at his Tejgaon office around 3:00 p.m., followed by an official banquet held in his honor in the evening.
