Crowds Gather at the Old Airport to Watch the Air Show

Large crowds have gathered at Dhaka’s Tejgaon old airport to witness an air show marking Victory Day.
The scene was observed around 9:45am on Tuesday. On the ground, long lines of spectators were seen at the gates of the old airport near Agargaon, where visitors were being allowed in after security checks.
Members of the Army, Air Force and Border Guard Bangladesh were deployed to maintain security.
Thousands of people had already entered the venue to enjoy the air show. Many visitors were carrying national flags, wearing headbands styled like the flag or clothing bearing Victory Day messages. A significant number also came dressed in red and green.
Today, December 16, marks the Great Victory Day. According to an information release issued on Monday, a grand air show was scheduled to take place at the Tejgaon old airport at 10:00am and was open to the general public.
However, as of 10:20am, when this report was being prepared, the air show had not yet begun.
The government has also requested that no drones be flown in and around the Tejgaon old airport and nearby areas throughout the day.
